Jacob Aronauer

Jacob is the firm’s principal attorney. With nearly 20 years of experience handling New York employment and discrimination matters, Jacob is a seasoned litigator and negotiator who represents his clients on a full range of New York employment law matters. He represents both employees and employers in a wide variety of employment-related litigations and disputes under federal, state, and local laws. He practices in federal and state courts, before state, federal, and local agencies, and in other administrative forums. He also represents clients in arbitrations, mediations, and other non-judicial dispute resolution matters.
For the state of New York, Jacob was selected as a rising star super lawyer from 2018 through 2020 and a Super Lawyer from 2022 through 2023. Jacob is a member of the New York State Bar, the New Jersey Star Bar, the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Colorado State Bar. Jacob is also admitted to practice in the federal courts of the Southern, Eastern, Northern and Western District of New York, New Jersey, Colorado and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Jacob has co-counseled class action and individual lawsuits under the Fair Labor Standards Act and the New York Labor Law. In addition, Jacob has obtained successful settlements for claims brought under the New York City Human Rights Law as well as Title VII.
Before starting his own firm, Jacob worked at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Labor Relations where he represented city agencies in labor disputes. Jacob also worked at a small employment law firm that specializes in employment law.
Recent Experience
– Represented a not-for profit in connection with claims of discrimination and defamation. Obtained a dismissal on a motion to dismiss.
– Represented an individual in restrictive covenant litigation in New York City. Obtained a favorable settlement.
– Represented a not-for profit before the New York State Division of Human Rights. Obtained a favorable settlement.
